For all football fans who like their gaming, FIFA is an essential to own. FIFA lets you take control of your favourite team and lead them to glory. There are two ways to gain success, you can either buy world stars or develop the best young talent from around the world.
To help you build your team, here are five top young footballers under £5 million that you can purchase on FIFA 13. The players chosen were from my playing experience in charge of Norwich City.
#5: Lucas Piazon – Chelsea
At the age of 18 and available for £425,000 with a 330 stat total, Lucas Piazon is a perfect choice as a tricky left winger. At first his development was slow as he did not get much playing time due to the exceptional skills and my love of Anthony Pilkington. However after sending Piazon out on loan, he was ready for first team action a year later.
His first full season in the first team saw his value rise from £1.5 million to £5 million. By the time he reached 25, he was my team’s star player before the board sold him onto Barcelona for £37 million.
#4: Timo Horn – FC Koln
After John Ruddy fell victim to a long-term injury, I needed to find a cheap goalkeeper to take his place. This is how I came across Timo Horn from the German Bundesliga. After signing him for just £1.3 million, I was surprised and impressed as to how well he did. After five games in the first team he was part of my defence who kept three clean sheets (more than Ruddy!). After being dropped to the bench as a result of Ruddy’s return, he later returned to reclaim the goalkeeper’s position in my team. At the start of my final season in charge of Norwich City, I rejected a number of high transfer fees from big clubs for Horn.
Although there were many benefits by having him in the team, there was one problem being that he is rather slow with a base speed stat of 45.
#3: Robbie Brady – Manchester United
The third player in our countdown is a player that came through the ranks at Manchester United. Robbie Brady caught my eye after I initially brought him on loan as a backup midfielder. He scored five goals in two pre-season friendlies and set up another two goals.
He was not the finished article when he first made it into my first team and had relatively low stats. The stats that needed the most improvement were his strength and interceptions, however after playing more and more these stats increased. Although his preferred position was as a winger, I was able to turn him into an attacking midfielder and after a few years of regular first team football his transfer value increased to £25 million.
#2: Elliott Hewitt – Ipswich Town
Originally signed for £275,000 as backup right-back to Russell Martin having accepted a good offer for Steven Whittaker, Elliott Hewitt gained value experience when I loaned him out to three different teams. Hewitt got a few games for my Norwich side to see how he got on and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. With a base stat total of 320, Elliott Hewitt is a right back with plenty of potential. Some of his stats were relatively low, although this was not a concern as they included penalty taking and shot power. There were a few of his stats that were extremely high; notably his speed, stamina and acceleration were three of his standout stats.
If you are looking for a young right-back with a lot of potential and at a low cost, you won’t go wrong with Elliott Hewitt from your local rivals.
#1: Alvaro Morata Martin – Real Madrid
Costing just over £2 million, the final player in our countdown is also the only centre forward in the list. When Grant Holt couldn’t take all of the attacking responsibilities on his own, Norwich City went abroad and to the mighty Real Madrid to find a young prospect.
When Alvaro Morata was first signed his highest stat was his strength. However, after being loaned out on two occasions and starting a few cup games, his potential soon increased. At the end of his first season as a first team regular he scored 12 goals, and at the end of his third and final season in the first team, he scored a total of fifty-six goals for the Canaries. I would highly recommend signing him if you are looking for a young striker.
These are the best young players under £2 million in FIFA 2013. Each player chosen for this list was as a result of my playing experience and how they performed for me.
Have you found any talented young players that cost you less than £2 million? Let us know in the comments section below.
East and west, Morata is best. Attacking skill 95 I have not tried others but I will try those 2 players also.
This is great stuff, it’s crazy to see that 2 or 3 of these players have made it to the top of European football while Hewitt, for example, has dropped down in stature.
I would be interested in writing an updated article similar to this If you accept guest posts?!
